David Smith MD

Dr. Smith, born in 1948, grew up on the picturesque Lake Champlain Islands of Vermont. He graduated from Duke University in 1970, served honorably in the U.S. Navy, and went on to earn his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in 1978. He completed his Residency training at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in 1981, further solidifying his dedication to providing exceptional care.

Dr. Smith has been happily married since 1973 and is a proud father of three grown children. Since 1981, he has practiced as a board-certified family physician in Forest, where his love for the community and commitment to his patients have been the cornerstone of his career.

In 2000, Dr. Smith founded Access Healthcare with a vision of delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. His enduring passion for both medicine and the well-being of his community continues to guide the practice today.
