Safe & Effective Treatment for Unwanted or Suspicious Skin Lesions
From moles and skin tags to cysts and unusual spots, skin lesions are common—and while many are harmless, some can be bothersome or raise concerns. At Access HealthCare Multispecialty Group, we offer safe, in-office skin lesion removal to help you feel more comfortable in your skin.
What Is a Skin Lesion?
A skin lesion is any abnormal bump, growth, discoloration, or patch on the skin. Some common types we evaluate and treat include:
- Moles
- Skin tags
- Cysts
- Warts
- Lipomas (fatty lumps under the skin)
- Non-healing or suspicious spots
Whether you’re dealing with a cosmetic concern or need something checked out for medical reasons, we’re here to help.

You might consider having a lesion removed if:
- It’s irritated by clothing or shaving
- It bleeds, itches, or changes in appearance
- It’s painful or inflamed
- You’re unsure if it’s cancerous
- You simply don’t like how it looks
Pro tip: If you notice any changes in color, size, shape, or border of a mole—get it evaluated. It’s always better to be safe.
When Should a Lesion Be Removed?
How Does Removal Work?
Skin lesion removal is a quick and minimally invasive procedure. Depending on the type and location of the lesion, your provider may recommend:
- Excision – cutting the lesion out
- Shave removal – slicing the lesion off the surface
- Cryotherapy – freezing it with liquid nitrogen
- Drainage or aspiration – for fluid-filled cysts
We’ll use local anesthetic to keep you comfortable, and most procedures take less than 30 minutes. Healing is usually quick, with minimal scarring.
What Happens After?
After removal, the area may be bandaged, and you’ll get simple care instructions. If your lesion is sent for pathology, we’ll follow up with results. You can usually return to daily activities the same day.
