Comprehensive Primary Care Services
Access Health provides comprehensive primary care services to men, women and children:
- Examinations, including sports and camp physicals, preventive health exams, pre-operative exams
- Well woman care, including gynecologic examination and PAP smears
- Full range of pediatric services including all childhood immunizations
- Comprehensive geriatric care
- Routine immunizations for adults and children, including flu shots and allergy vaccine administration
- On-site laboratory services with blood and urine collection, EKG and X-Rays, Coumadin monitoring
- Minor surgical procedures –lacerations, skin biopsies, removal of skin lesions, cryosurgery
- Casting of uncomplicated fractures
Appointments are available each day for urgent medical problems like:
- Infectious illness (respiratory infections, urinary infections, gastrointestinal problems)
- Minor injuries (lacerations, sprains, strains, uncomplicated fractures)
- Headaches
- Abdominal pain
- Rashes and other skin problems
We manage common illnesses including:
- Hypertension
- Diabetes
- High cholesterol
- Obesity
- Allergies, asthma, chronic lung disease
- Heart disease
- Psychiatric problems
- Dementia

Our physicians maintain staff privileges at the Centra Health hospital system in Lynchburg. While we do not routinely manage our patients in the hospital, we visit them regularly during hospitalization to ensure coordination of care with hospital-based physicians.
When needed, we admit and manage our patients at most local skilled care and nursing facilities.
We make house calls when medically necessary.
