Office Hours
Access HealthCare is open from 8:30AM through 6PM Monday through Friday. Our office is closed for major holidays. Please call in advance if there are any questions.
After Hours
When the office is closed, our physicians can be reached promptly by telephone by calling our office answering service at (434) 316 7199. Our physicians sometimes meet patients at the office after hours to avoid a trip to emergency facilities.
Appointments
Please call in advance at (434) 316-7199 for appointments, even for sick visits on the same day. If you call after hours for a routine appointment, you can leave a message and our staff will contact you to confirm the date and time of your appointment. Please call at least 24 hours in advance if you must cancel an appointment, so we can open the schedule for other patients.
New Patients
New patients should arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. Please be sure to bring a copy of your insurance cards and a list of all medications. To facilitate the registration process you may download our Patient Registration Form and Patient Health History Form, fill them out in advance, and bring them with you to your appointment.
Billing and Insurance
Payment is expected at the time of service for the patient’s portion of office charges, including any patient co-pay. We accept most major credit cards. Our office participates in most health insurance plans operating locally, including:
- Aetna
- Anthem
- Cigna
- Medicare (Please note we do not participate in any private Medicare insurance plans)
- Piedmont Community Health Plan
- Southern Health
- United HealthCare
Our office will file insurance claims with these organizations. Billing and insurance questions can be directed to our staff in person or via telephone at (434) 316-7199.
Prescriptions Refills
Are best accomplished by contacting your pharmacist, who can send us an electronic refill request for prompt processing. If needed, please call our office at (434)316-7199.
Communications
Access HealthCare is dedicated to providing you excellent health care services, very efficiently and consistently. You can reach us directly by telephone; we do not use an automated answering system. Help us be efficient by arranging for appointments and prescription refills well in advance; this minimizes the number of calls at busy times of the workday. After your office visit, our physicians will contact you by telephone or secure email to discuss any remaining laboratory or other diagnostic test results.
You can communicate with us on-line through this website by signing into the patient portal. Once you have established a password by contacting our office, you can sign in to our secure portal that allows you to send email messages to any of our staff and physicians. Your registration allows us to communicate with you by secure email. In addition you can retrieve you lab results and other medical information directly on line.
